No, that’s a very common misconception. The first digits (GS1 prefix) indicate where the barcode was registered, not where the product was made. A product with a barcode starting with 3 (France) can very well be manufactured in China. That’s exactly why Mio exists: to go beyond the barcode to find the real origin.
